GeoAge makes data collection faster for Alltel Wireless customers

Software empowers users to link time, location information using GPS

Release date: Oct. 23, 2006

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Alltel Wireless customers now can build and deploy their own data collection forms using the UT Starcomê PPC 6700. The software, created by GeoAge Inc., eliminates the need for paper forms and dramatically improves the quality and accuracy of data collected in the field.

The Field Adapted Survey Toolkit (FAST) software allows users to customize data collection forms to their specific needs. Employing "drag and drop" tools, customers build their own forms, which can be used to collect data with a minimum of typing. Information can then be shared among mobile devices in a way that ensures consistent and legible data entry and eliminates errors associated with re-keying.

"The ability to collect and transmit information using digital forms eliminates the errors and inefficiency associated with traditional paperwork," said Elisabeth Owen, president of business solutions for Alltel Wireless. "The GeoAge software is a terrific productivity enhancing tool for Alltel's enterprise customers."

GeoAge maintains an extensive library of mobile data collection templates for various industries, including those used for opinion surveys, sales tracking, emergency management, facility management, and more.

FAST also integrates Global Positioning System (GPS) information and digital photographs with the forms. This allows data to be instantly mapped on a desktop or over the Web.

"Looking at data geographically can provide understanding that may not otherwise be realized," said Jeff Arnold, president of GeoAge. "It enables organizations to know what is happening and where it is happening and then to react quickly and effectively."

Fast is available on the UT Starcom PPC 6700 through the Alltel Wireless business channel. Interested customers should call 1-877-BIZ-CNTR.
