Software Updates
Manufacturers periodically release software updates to ensure devices are performing at peak levels. These FREE updates do not take long to install and will not have any adverse effects on the applications, contacts or data stored in your phone.
BlackBerry® Software Updates
An update is currently available for the following models:
- Curve 8330
- Pearl 8130
- Pearl Flip 8230
- World Edition 8830
To download the appropriate update, please verify your phone’s serial number before proceeding. This can be found on the home screen by selecting “Options” > “Status”:

Once you have determined your phone’s serial number type, please follow the steps below:
1. Visit http://software.alltel.com from your PC.
2. Select the appropriate operating system for your computer.
3. From the “Select your product” menu, choose “Phones.”
4. From the “Select your device/software” menu, choose your specific phone model then click “Submit.”
5. From the list of available software, select the most recent software according to the date it was posted, enter your cell phone number and click "Download Now."
Required MOTOQ™ Software Update
A software update is required for MOTOQ smartphones that do not have software version Q2-BP_C_06.0C.1EP. Press Start > Settings > More > More > Phone Settings > Phone Information to find your current software version. This is a free software update.
MOTO Q Software Upgrade Instructions
You must connect your phone to a computer with Internet access to download this software.
Required Palm Software Update
A software update is required for the Palm Treo 700p and Palm Treo 755p. This update is necessary for:
Palm Treo 700p with software version Treo700p-1.42-CDMA
Palm Treo 755p with software Treo755p-1.02-CDMA
A software update is required for the Palm Treo 700wx with version Treo 700wx-1.11-ROWEN. To find the current software, press Start, Settings, click the System tab, About, and then click the Phone tab. You can download this software to your device using an SD™ card.
To find the current software, go to the Phone dial pad screen, then press the Menu button, and select Options and then Phone Info. This is a free software update.
You can download this software to your device using an Internet connection and the USB data cable that came with your device, or using a miniSD™ card.
