- Alltel, headquartered in Little Rock, Ark., owns and operates the nation’s largest wireless network. Alltel’s wireless footprint covers more than half of the total landmass of the continental United States. Alltel serves more than 13 million customers in 34 states.
- Alltel announced plans on June 5 to be acquired by Verizon Wireless. The deal is awaiting final regulatory approval and is expected to close
before year's end.
Third Quarter 2008
Revenues were $2.5 billion, a 10 percent increase from the same period a year ago.
Alltel achieved a new record in consolidated EBITDA, which was $929.8 million, a 13 percent increase from the same period a year ago.
Alltel added more than 1 million gross customers through internal growth, a 28 percent increase from a year ago.
- Average revenue per wireless customers (ARPU) was $55.62. Data revenue per wireless customer was $8.99, up 42 percent year-over-year.
Second Quarter 2008
Revenues were $2.39 billion, a 10 percent increase from the same period a year ago.
Alltel added more than 1 million gross customers through internal growth, a 37 percent increase from a year ago.
- Average revenue per wireless customers (ARPU) was $54.42, up 1 percent from last year. Data revenue per wireless customer was $8.18, up 45 percent year-over-year.
