May 9, 2006
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Alltel has extended until 2012 its GSM roaming agreement with Cingular Wireless, allowing customers for both companies to roam on each other's network. The agreement covers GSM voice and data services and allows for expansion of GSM into heritage Alltel markets.
"Alltel's extension with Cingular will provide our company with some revenue upside in our wholesale business and gives Alltel an inside view of the development path of GSM technologies," said Kevin Beebe, group president of operations.
Alltel is a customer-focused communications company with more than 15 million customers in 36 states and nearly $10 billion in annual revenues.
