important voice mail announcement
In order to cater to the growing number of Alltel customers in the Richmond, VA area, the wireless voicemail system in your area will be upgraded Friday night, October 24, 2008. Please take note of the following instructions and dates to avoid any possible disruptions to your voicemail service.
Setting up your new voice mail on Saturday, October 25th:
- Dial your 10-digit wireless number from your wireless phone.
- Enter the default security code “9999”.
If dialing voicemail from another phone than your wireless:
- Press “#” during the system greeting.
- Then enter the default security code “9999”.
- Follow the instructions to select a new security code and record your name and greeting.
Please note that you must finish the voice mail setup tutorial in its entirety before you can use the new system.
Listen to your messages on the old system from October 25th – November 8th:
- Dial your voicemail number.
- Enter security code to access your voicemail box.
- Once inside the voicemail box, press 3 to listen to old messages.
- Follow voice instructions.
Please note you will not be able to transfer messages to the new system. Please write all important messages down before November 8th. On November 9th, the old voice mail system and dial in numbers will be deactivated.
